A mesmerizing, suspenseful psychological thriller about fame, identity, and the secrets that haunt us. David Lowery's highly anticipated film, Mother Mary, will be screened at Kino Pod Baranami as part of the Cinemino series on Wednesday, July 15th, at 6:45 PM.
David Lowery (A Ghost Story, The Green Knight) returns with a film that explores the dark sides of fame and the burden of old secrets. On the eve of her grand comeback, the pop icon known as Mother Mary searches for the perfect costume to revitalize her artistic vision. She reconnects with a designer she collaborated with years ago. The reunion reopens old wounds, forcing the two women to confront the past, and brings up hidden, almost supernatural tensions.
Anne Hathaway, who recently starred in The Devil Wears Prada 2 and will soon appear in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, stars in the lead role. She is joined by Michaela Coel, Hunter Schafer, and Kaia Gerber, and the film features music composed by artists such as Charli XCX, Jack Antonoff, and FKA Twigs.
Cinemino is a series of screenings for international audiences, during which viewers from around the world come together to watch the latest Polish and international productions. Each meeting consists of a film screening at Kino Pod Baranami and an informal post-screening discussion at Betel Club. The event is held in English, and the films are shown either in English, or with English subtitles.
The Cinemino series is hosted by Krzysztof Bielski (Jagiellonian University) and Małgorzata Mączko (Kino Pod Baranami).

ABOUT THE FILM:
Pop star Mother Mary (Anne Hathaway) is preparing for her grand comeback. The singer visits an old friend, a costume designer with whom she shares a mysterious past. What was supposed to be a new beginning takes a disturbing turn, revealing that a carefully hidden truth could destroy everything.
