Fight Club is a masterfully crafted, unforgettable adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk's enigmatic debut novel. David Fincher's cult classic, starring Edward Norton and Brad Pitt, will be screened at Kino Pod Baranami as part of the English-language Cinemino series, on Wednesday, June 10th, at 5:45 PM.
Fight Club is one of the most acclaimed films of the 1990s, returning to Polish cinemas more than 25 years after its premiere. David Fincher's provocative film is based on Chuck Palahniuk's debut novel that tells the story of a lonely man whose life undergoes a drastic transformation with the arrival of a mysterious, charismatic companion. The film stars Edward Norton and Brad Pitt.
Fincher compared Fight Club to films like Rebel Without a Cause and The Graduate, highlighting its themes of disillusionment with a modern world ruled by consumerism and superficial relationships. Cinemino is a series of screenings for international audiences, during which viewers from around the world come together to watch the latest Polish and international productions. Each meeting consists of a film screening at Kino Pod Baranami and an informal post-screening discussion at Betel Club. The event is held in English, and the films are shown either in English, or with English subtitles.
The Cinemino series is hosted by Krzysztof Bielski (Jagiellonian University) and Małgorzata Mączko (Kino Pod Baranami).

The protagonist (Edward Norton) is a yuppie in his thirties. He has a well-paying job, the prospect of promotion, and a posh apartment. However, he feels an inner emptiness. Success brings him no joy, and he is tormented by a sense of unfulfillment. He has become so caught up in the rat race, euphemistically called "self-improvement," that he has developed chronic insomnia. One day, he meets a mysterious man who mocks everything and everyone. Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), an eccentric soap salesman, draws him into his peculiar world.
