Kino Pod Baranami introduces a new series of English-language film meetings, created with international audiences in mind. The inaugural screening of the "Cinemino Kraków – Expats and Locals Cinema Meetings" series will take place on Wednesday, October 29th, at 6.15 PM. A preview screening of Arjun Talwar's film Letters From Wolf Street will be presented with both Polish and English subtitles.
The "Cinemino Kraków – Expats and Locals Cinema Meetings" group was created in October 2023, with the goal of establishing a new space for international film gatherings, which had been missing from Kraków cinemas’ repertoires. The organizers were inspired by similar initiatives that operate successfully in other European countries, and modeled the new event after the Amsterdam discussion club of the same name. Each meeting consists of a film screening at Kino Pod Baranami and an informal post-screening discussion at the partner Betel Club.
From the very beginning, Cinemino has hosted film screenings at Kino Pod Baranami, where audiences from around the world have gathered to watch new films - both Polish and international. After two years, dozens of films shared, and countless hours of discussions about cinema, Cinemino is beginning a new chapter in its history and becoming a new permanent series in Kino Pod Baranami's repertoire.
The inaugural Cinemino event in its new format will take place on Wednesday, October 29th, at 6:15 PM. The program includes a pre-premiere screening of the film Letters From Wolf Street (with both Polish and English subtitles), in which Indian-born director Arjun Talwar examines the eponymous Warsaw street and its inhabitants. It's a story about feeling alienated in a new place, but also a parable about how - despite our imagined differences and divides - we actually have much in common. After the screening, there will be an informal gathering at the Betel Club, where you can participate in a discussion about the film in English.
Subsequent meetings will take place on Wednesdays, every second or third week. All films in the series are shown in English or with additional English subtitles.
The Cinemino series is hosted by Krzysztof Bielski (Jagiellonian University) and Małgorzata Mączko (Kino Pod Baranami).

ABOUT THE FILM:
LETTERS FROM WOLF STREET | LISTY Z WILCZEJ
(Arjun Talwar) PL/DE 2025, 97’

Wolf Street in the center of Warsaw. Arjun Talwar, who emigrated here from India a decade ago, still struggles with feelings of alienation. Seeking to assimilate, the director begins filming his neighbors, which often puts their relationships to the test. With the help of a friend from college, Arjun uncovers the secrets of the street, from which a network of fascinating characters emerges. The director discovers that he has more in common with his neighbors than he might think – they all live between the past and the present, their imagined homeland and their real one. The street connects them like an invisible thread, offering solace in the melancholy of everyday life.
The film will be screened with both Polish and English subtitles.

Zapraszamy na inaugurację nowego cyklu anglojęzycznych spotkań filmowych, stworzonego z myślą o międzynarodowej publiczności. Pokaz otwierający cykl “Cinemino Kraków – Expats and Locals Cinema Meetings” odbędzie się w środę, 29 października, o godzinie 18.00.

O FILMIE:
LISTY Z WILCZEJ | LETTERS FROM WOLF STREET
(Arjun Talwar) PL/DE 2025, 97’

Ulica Wilcza w centrum Warszawy.
Film z podwójnymi - polskimi i angielskimi - napisami.
